Complex Trauma and PTSD
Trauma isn't defined solely by a singular event; rather, it is shaped by how these experiences affect you daily.
It can stem from a variety of circumstances—whether a major life-altering event or a series of smaller, cumulative experiences that overwhelm your ability to cope. Trauma manifests differently for each person, so there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing.
In therapy, we’ll create a safe, compassionate space to explore the impact of the abuse and help you reclaim your sense of self.
Complex trauma often results from prolonged exposure to distressing experiences, such as childhood neglect, abuse, or intimate partner violence. These ongoing experiences can impact your ability to trust, form healthy connections, or feel grounded in the present. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) may emerge in response to a range of traumas, manifesting as flashbacks, hypervigilance, dissociation, emotional numbness, or avoidance of triggers that bring up painful memories.
My approach to trauma work is rooted in compassion, attunement, and respect for your individual process. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, allowing you to make sense of your past while cultivating a sense of safety and connection within yourself now. Healing is not linear - it takes time and unfolds at your pace.
Together, we’ll work toward helping you reclaim control over your life. Using somatic techniques, mindfulness, and therapeutic conversation, we’ll explore how trauma manifests in your body, emotions, and relationships. My goal is to create a safe, trusting environment where you can engage in this process with openness, curiosity, and support. You deserve to feel safe and empowered, and I’m here to support you as you navigate your path to healing and personal growth.
